Some of My Ideas

HID: Interactive Touch Surfaces

My passion is Human Interaction through UI/UX as well as utilizing specially designed hardware. Having looked at different touch surfaces, their designs and implementation I have created several prototypes for my own personal use. Some are inspired by Johnny Chung Lee, others by project investigation of miniature cameras. All use wireless Bluetooth Technology and communicate with software on PC’s that the user can interact with on an LCD panel or via projection on a specified surface.

These surfaces vary in size and I have been able to interact with HD Projectors that threw its image on an entire wall.

Microsoft has developed several multi-touch surfaces that are very expensive. However, its a technology that has traction and is gaining in popularity.

Some of these surfaces have been used in clubs, bars, and other hospitality venues. They are now becoming commercial available as tablet hybrids in the form of windows surface devices.

At my home you will find some interesting prototypes that are cheaper alternatives…I am still deciding on whether there might be a commercially viable product, or at least how to get it to the market place. Until I answer these questions I am going to continually evolve the designs.
